My goals for this E-portfolio is to build an online presence that I can maintain over the course of the next few years. My hopes are that I will be able to grow the purpose of this website from a course assignment to a real tool people use to get to know me/contact me. I always want to have some of my personality shine through on this site, rather than its contents seeming monotone or lacking flare.
The most difficult part of setting up the Wix account and profile was becoming familiar with the website tools. Trying to grasp some control over templets was immensely difficult and I never fully go the hang of it. Half way through the set-up of my website I switched from Wix ADI to Wix editor, and this led to many confusing errors and needs for adapting. Wix editor allows for more customization, however it is also less “user friendly.” In order to craft my pages to fit my needs I had to adapt my styles, improvise actions, and read a LOT of short help articles. The easiest part of creating my Wix profile was hitting publish after the week-long struggle was over.
I believe the atmosphere I created throughout this website is, relatively, both personable and professional. If used properly, I believe this E-portfolio could be a phenomenal way for future employers or admissions officers to get a feel for who I am and what I have to offer.
How much is too much? If I get the hang of this portfolio, I would like to add to it. This would include course work, but also personal projects.
